I'm like drowning in this

Two reasons I dropped the ball. ONE) Celebrating nuptials and getting sunburned in Puerto Vallarta. TWO) I am starting to hate everyone on the show. Okay three reasons THREE) Sort of bitter about the fact that there was no Aftershow.

Last week; quick rundown. Olivia is a horrible witch (as usual). She took credit for the look that Whitney pulled for the Elle cover. She said it was too "matchy, matchy." And that Asian-Elle-editor-dude loved it. She didn't seem to care. She is the new Spencer. It appears there is no The City Aftershow. MTV is giving up.

This episode of the City was rife with memorable (cliche) quotes.

Highlights:
Allie telling Whitney she needs to "reevaluate her love life."Jay has been staying out all night with his ex Dani. I doubt anything happened but he did ask her if she was ready to "get out of there" when they were at a bar together. Whitney ends her dinner with Allie in tears.

Tamarama headed out on tour!
This week Jay is trying to drown Whitney in their relationship, or is it in lies. One can never be sure with these two. He has known about his band going on tour (Let's be honest it is exactly what he wanted. Why else would he be with Whitney?) for a few weeks and she is pissed when he finally tells her he is leaving next week. He assumed she would be pissed he was going. She was just mad that he didn't tell her until right before. (He is exceptionally stupid in this case. I mean Adam even told him he needed to do it. Just when I was starting to hate him.) She finally showed her backbone. She gets up and leaves the dinner and says he needs to find somewhere else to sleep for the night. The girls tell her how great it is to be single in New York. Very, Sex in the City.
The fight that they have is very real. "I don't want to be in a relationship with someone who thinks I'm a burden..." "I just need to be myself." "Basically, I don't mean enough to you to try to make it work at this point." Everyone is crying and sad and Jay just leaves (after he was complaining that she left dinner). I say good riddance. She should probably date other people. Maybe it could be a more likeable character so I will feel more passionate about the show and want to blog about it.
Also this episode, Whitney and Olivia have to work on the handbag pitch for the global marketing team. Sounds impressive doesn't it? Olivia is busy taking pictures and calling sparkly bags that are a bit much, practical. Whitney kills this presentation. She is flawless and poised and not bad with a turn of the phrase. These handbags embody "accessible luxury" and "don't want to look to the bag as a burden". Olivia was not nervous at all and then sucked it up. Olivia showcases her poor presentation skills. She sounded like a jackass. My favorite phrase uttered/stumbled through "hearing a multipletude of things."

No new Gossip Girl until March !6th. Don't worry it looks to be sensational. Thank you Michelle and Iheartyoublog. You might not want to watch this if you are unable to get back into the country before March 16th. You will be bummed. When will this torture end?

  1. Whitney is going to make one incredible careerist. I like how she was able to channel her personal anxiety about being a burden as a girlfriend into a presentation on handbags. She will own New York in no time.

Also, stop trying to make multipletude happen, Olivia. It's not going to happen. (think Mean Girls)

I am unable to find an Internet connection strong enough to watch this video (I've seriously tried multiple venues) -- probably a good thing, as I was unable to make it back to the U.S. in time for the episode.
